Tea tree essential oil has long been used in the field of aromatherapy. This 100% pure oil has been wild-crafted and steam distilled from Australian tea trees.
Best known for being a powerful immune stimulant, tea tree essential oil has been used for centuries by herbalists and aromatherapists. The oil is harvested from the leaves of the melaleuca alternifolia, more commonly known as the tea tree; a robust tree with needle-like leaves that is native to Australia.
Tea tree oil is a versatile natural remedy, its vapours are believed to help many ailments. It’s also widely used as a principle ingredient in a whole host of health and beauty products.
Tea tree essential oil has a middle note fragrance and carries a fresh, medicinal medium to strong aroma with mint and spice undertones. It blends well with a number of other essential oils including; cinnamon, clary sage, clove, geranium, lavender, lemon, myrrh, nutmeg, rosewood, rosemary and thyme.
Historically, the healing properties of tea tree oil were first harnessed by the aboriginal people of Australia. It became so essential in the fight against infection that during the second world war the producers and cutters of tea tree were exempt from military service and tea tree oil became an essential part of any soldier’s or sailor’s kit.
Cautions: Tea Tree essential oil may cause dermal sensitization in some people. Do not take internally.
